Soapstone is a natural stone composed mainly of talc and quartz minerals. We offer architectural soapstone – which contains a higher quartz content -- perfect for countertops! This is a much harder stone than the soapstone used for carving.

In its natural state, a soapstone counter is light grey in color and contains a variety of veining patterns, which make each stone unique.  Soapstone is treated with mineral oil so you control the shine and the depth of the colour by the amount of oil applied. 

• Like granite, Soapstone is heat resistant and extremely durable
• Soapstone is easy to maintain and clean – it is a non-porous stone so there is no threat of staining
• Soapstone is easy to measure and adapt to your kitchen or bathroom space
• Soapstone can also be used around your fireplace
